Sustain Africa roll out in Mozambique

Sustain Africa’s programme in Mozambique, targeting almost 50,000 farmers with 9,500MT of rebated fertilizer, rolls out with a mulitstakeholder event

Sustain Africa’s programme in Mozambique, targeting 47,500 farmers with 9,500 MT supplied at discounted prices by Yara and ETG, kicked off at a launch event in Beira, with regional events in Gorongosa and Xai-Xai.  Sustain Africa Executive Director, Ben Valk, presented the programme and thanked the coalition partners, Yara, ETG, Syngenta and AFAP. Agriculture is the second largest sector of the economy in the country, contributing by 26% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Despite favourable climatic conditions, low access to inputs is a key factor in low crop yields in the country. The fertilizer coordinated through Sustain Africa will be targeted for maize, rice and vegetable production.

We are in planning stages.
